West Virginia collision kills 6: report

An accident involving a helicopter that occurred on Wednesday in West Virginia is said to have claimed the lives of six persons.

According to the information provided by the Federal Aviation Administration, the Bell UH-1B helicopter went down near Route 17 in Logan County at around 5:00 p.m. 

There were six persons aboard the aircraft at the time of the disaster. Personnel from several emergency services rushed to the location.

Sonya Porter, the Deputy Director of the Logan County Office of Emergency Management, confirmed to the ABC News station WCHS that all six persons had passed away.

At least three people on board the jet were hurt in the catastrophic crash landing in Miami.

Both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are conducting separate investigations into the event
