U.S. soldier arrested for Syria base explosion

A U.S. Air Force member was detained Tuesday in connection with an assault on a U.S. facility in Syria, the military said.

The U.S.-based airman was arrested Thursday and is in pretrial detention, an Air Force spokeswoman said.

The military revealed a U.S. service member was a "possible suspect" in the April attack on the Green Village base earlier this month after concluding the blast was caused by

"deliberate placement of explosive charges"
CNN stated the wounded military personnel had TBIs.

The Green Village troops are among the 900 Americans stationed in eastern Syria to support the Syrian Democratic Forces, a mostly Kurdish group fighting ISIS.

Militia groups supported by Iran often fire rockets and mortars on U.S. outposts in Syria and Iraq.
