Since Saturday, more than 14,000 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Los Angeles County, although the number of virus-positive patients in local hospitals
has remained stable, falling by 10.
Due to weekend reporting delays, the county Department of Public Health recorded
5,708 new cases on Saturday, 4,404 on Sunday, and 4,282 on Monday.
The latest cases lifted the county's pandemic total above 3 million, to 3,004,975.
Many individuals now use home testing, but the findings aren't always reported to authorities, say health experts.
Monday, Los Angeles County hospitals had 530 COVID-positive patients, down from 540 on Sunday. As of Sunday, 63 people were in critical care.
