Since Saturday, more than 14,000 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Los Angeles County, although the number of virus-positive patients in local hospitals

has remained stable, falling by 10.

5,708 new cases on Saturday, 4,404 on Sunday, and 4,282 on Monday.
The latest cases lifted the county's pandemic total above 3 million, to 3,004,975.

Many individuals now use home testing, but the findings aren't always reported to authorities, say health experts.

Monday, Los Angeles County hospitals had 530 COVID-positive patients, down from 540 on Sunday. As of Sunday, 63 people were in critical care.

"The sustained high incidence of transmission in the area is worrying," said county Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer
