Capitol Attack Proud Boys Charged with Sedition

Enrique Tarrio, the former chairman of the Proud Boys, and four other members were accused Monday for seditious conspiracy for their participation in the Jan. 6 Capitol storming

These are the most severe criminal allegations to be filed in the Justice Department's investigation of the attack.

This is the second time a far-right organisation has been charged with seditious conspiracy in the Jan. 6 assault.

Stewart Rhodes, commander and creator of the far-right Oath Keepers group, was arrested in January.

To establish seditious conspiracy, prosecutors must demonstrate that at least two persons conspired to use force to overturn government authority or postpone a U.S. statute.

Ms. Edwards, a renowned Capitol Police officer, was concussed during the attack.
